Who is the main culprit behind high gas prices?
Do you ever wonder how the cook at Mcdonalds, or the clerk at Walgreens are even able to get to work everyday with gas prices being so exhorbitant ? Why are gas prices over a dollar more than they were a year ago? Who do you think is the main culprit behind these exhorbitant prices? Opec, the Oil Companies, the Bush adminstration?

Offshore drilling is not the answer to high gas prices
There have been a lot of discussions about the high gas prices in USA the past months and what exactly should be done to curb this trend. Some politicians, like McCain, Bush, and Gingrich, are taking advantage of the situation and tries to push for the ending of a 27-year moratorium on offshore drilling along the coastlines of USA. What do y’all think of this as a way to lower gas prices?
I think its time to take gas prices out of the speculative markets and make it managed through government control. Even though I **** government control! We need this because with our current dependence on oil, its become as necessary as a utility, just like electricity. Also, we need much more funding on alternative fuel research, subsidies so lower income folk can buy cars like the Prius.

Do gas prices need to be as high as they are and what are some of the issues driving prices higher?
Bush wanted to go into Alaska for oil and they found a huge oil reserve off the gulf of mexico. Are we running out of oil or do you think after Bush leaves office the price of oil will drop? Or do you think oil and the president have nothing in relation to how gas prices are today? I know Iraq has a good deal to do with it but I wonder once he leaves office prices will drop?
High Gas Prices and the Windfall Profits Tax
Why are gas prices so high? Inflation, falling dollar, supply and demand, greedy oil CEOs, government interventionism? What is the Windfall Profits Tax that Sen. Clinton and Obama want to implement? Is it a good or bad idea?
How high do gas prices need to get before people do something?
I realize that we have our hands tied somewhat, since most people need gas in order to drive to work, store, etc, but there must be SOMETHING people can do to put pressure on the states to cap oil prices. By continuing to buy at these hiked prices, we’re sending the message that we’re ok with paying these prices…..but we’re not! What do you suppose should be done? I was thinking we could start riots at all our local gas stations…but i dont know if that would work
