I live in small town in state of NY & gas prices are usually cheaper in Rochester , the closest large city to where I live. There are 2 gas stations there that drop gas prices by 3 to 4 cents with a car wash. The price of gas here is $3.88 a gallon now.
Right now, there is no gas in the stations in my home town.
The word is if and when they do get gas it will be five dollars a gallon.
No I believe it is vice versa.

In general, within the same state it’s usually cheaper in urban areas, since there are more gas stations and therefore more competition.
But on the flip side, urban areas sometimes require cleaner-burning gas due to smog, which drives up the price.
