Do gas prices need to be as high as they are and what are some of the issues driving prices higher?
snitzelgrooven asked:
Bush wanted to go into Alaska for oil and they found a huge oil reserve off the gulf of mexico. Are we running out of oil or do you think after Bush leaves office the price of oil will drop? Or do you think oil and the president have nothing in relation to how gas prices are today? I know Iraq has a good deal to do with it but I wonder once he leaves office prices will drop?

the fact that oil companies are the biggest contributers to president campaigns is why the gas prices are so high…its “i’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine”
its so funny this is quarter exxons has made the highest earning than ever before!
POLITICS……END OF MESSAGE…..The oil reserve in the world will last for thousands of years…….there is NO SHORTAGE…IT’S ALL POLITICAL CRAP!!!!!!!
It’s all a matter of marketing. They will use any plausible excuse to raise the prices. They’re saying now that there was a fire at an Oklahoma refinery, that the demand has increased sharply, yadayadayada. The truth is that their boy is in the White House and they can do as they dam* well please.
No, I don’t think prices will drop after he leaves office because the public has not responded to the increases. If they were trading their SUV’s in for Prius’ in droves then eventually the price of gas would drop but they aren’t. The price of gas will continue to increase until they do just that.
when Bush leves office, Dems will pull troops out of Iraq, which will become a scene of very bloody civil war, which will disrupt the supplies and further increase oil price.
So Bush is an idiot for getting us into this situation, and Dems are idiots for trying to make it worse.
The other issue that drives oil prices up is developing China, which needs oil to powers it new plants, AC’s and cars. But since China is getting rich by exporting stuff to US, we cannot really do anything about it.
Oil prices will drop when Bush leaves office and we pull out of Iraq
