I read that 75% of what we pay is fuel tax & vat. It's an absolute joke. So at the current cost of unleaded in England (about £1.20) 90p is fuel tax & vat.

If you are in the same position I was in, where I was struggling to afford the petrol prices and began walking & using more public transport, I HIGHLY recommend

I can now use my car to get around again, without struggling to afford petrol prices as it has cut what I used to spend on petrol each month by half! Don't know what I'd do without it

The price of gas where I am in New York, is about $4.47.
Where my brothers girlfriend lives in New Jersey it is about $4.09.
I'd say our gas prices are probably lower than California's prices, but it's predicted gas will reach about $7.15 by the end of summer where I live--which my parents aren't looking forward too (neither am I--it will mean we'll be going out less!=[ )

I find it hilarious, because where I live in NY, gas stations seem to be clustered together. There can be two gas stations , right across the street from each other..And one will charge about four cents more! It's funny to see who is duped into going to the more expensive one sometimes.

My mum makes me find the cheapest gas prices in the area using MSN Autos. It helps a lot of the time! :]=&src=0Netx

(The prices I listed, are for regular gas. I don't see how people manage to pay for the "better" gas!)

Well, in my town 45 mins south of Dallas Texas, we are at $4.20c gallon for Unleaded.
Diesal is up too $4.85c a gallon.
Haven't been anywhere else to see any differences but i'm sure it'smuch higher in bigger towns and cities.

Kenzie - it's not the effin war in Iraq...jeesh.
My husband has family in the oil industry too, actually, his family own property with 9 horses pumping oil out on it and it is to do with the gas co. as to why it is high not Bush!

my family owns a gas company
in texas, prices range from 2.50-4.00
just so you know though, it's not the gas company's fault the prices are so high, it's the war in iraq that causes the prices of oil in foriegn companies to go up, which is required to make gasoline :]
