What is the reason for gas prices to be so high?
Plain White T’s Fan asked:
Is it because of the war in Iraq? Or just because the companies can make them pricey? Or maybe President Bush? Please explain. My mom and I were driving to get some gas today and she was complaining about the prices. Help please!
Is the world really running out of gas? I am only 13, so please try to break the scary big words down for me. Will we have to walk or use bikes if we run out of gas?

All of the above and more–The economy is in recession.
In other words it’s failing as has been expected for some time now.
All things tie into each other:
Supply, demand, and the effects of the free market. You’ve got to understand that with the industrialization of countries like China, there has been an increase in demand. We have a weakened dollar that buys less than what it used to. We also have traders that trade petrol barrel prices. I think the above have more to do with the gas prices than the president. If people believe that we’re there for oil, then the prices should actually be getting cheaper because we would have more supply and thus cheaper prices.
lots of people say the gas or oil companies are to blame. The gas makes 8 cents a gallon, oil after taxes, environmental regulation costs, the cost of constantly having to drill for more oil, maintenance costs, etc makes about 65 cents The rest of that $2.72 goes to everyone else except the oil company(federal goverment what do they do with it and sates goverments.). This isn’t the popular answer, everyone wants to **** a profitable company, but I really don’t care. It’s the truth. An if you relly want hillary an obama to tax the oil companies windafall profits, look up the 70 with old jimmy carter, boy gas shortages and all that is waht you get if they do that again.
GREED
The world is running out of gas, it’s a non-renewable resource. Also, the war in Iraq isn’t helping either.
It is all politically controlled, there is enough oil to last for along time. However due to the war we can’t get to it. The opec is trying to get as much money as they can now because we will enventually run out.
It wants to blame OPEC, China, India, etc., of high fuel prices or gas. The real problem are the oil companies , those who have commercial ties with the governments of many developed countries, including USA, their principal mechanism for generating more revenue is speculation. That’s what we’re talking about.
Don’t go for research….it is a greatest matters with wonderful secrets.. however, i wish to answer in one line..
”ones profit is on ones loss”
read…
ones unlimited profit are ones unlimited loss..
read again please…
”ones unlimited profit are ones unlimited loss & sufferings”
thanks…
the fuel prices are rising because the dollar value is dropping. the oil companies have to raise the prices to meet their profits. if they dont raise their prices they will make losses. also another reason why the oil is expensive is that, the wages and salaries havent been raised to meet inflation (the value of the dollar dropping) making things expensive.
inflation.
like i said before
